From December 30th to January 4th, 2024, Charuka Prasad embarked on a breathtaking birding expedition through the verdant landscapes of Sattal, Pangot, and Jim Corbett National Park. Guided by the knowledgeable Mahesh Rajpoot, this journey was an immersion into the avian wonders of the Himalayas.

From the elusive Rufous-throated Partridge to the majestic Mountain Scops Owl, every turn of the trail revealed a new feathered gem. Brown Wood Owls silently observed from their perches, while the melodious calls of Chestnut-headed Tesia echoed through the forest.

Among the highlights were sightings of the rare Western-crowned Warbler, the vibrant Himalayan Rubythroat, and the charismatic White-crested Laughingthrush.  Rusty-cheeked Scimitar Babblers flitted among the bushes, adding a touch of charm to the wilderness. As the journey continued, the group encountered a plethora of species, including the striking Blue-bearded Bee Eater, the elegant Indian Paradise Flycatcher, and the magnificent Great Hornbill. Each sighting was a testament to the region's biodiversity and the importance of conservation efforts.
